S.a.t.ur.day- NIGHT!

Does anyone besides me remember that song? I even have it on my ipod. I remember my cousin, Becky teaching it to me way back when. She also taught me “Delta Dawn.” She sang it nearly non-stop from Birmingham to Disneyworld. It is forever etched in my mind. I wish she had taught me some song to help me remember the periodic table or something worthwhile….

Tonight we drove over to the island to meet with some Milestone (our old church) friends for dinner. What a treat! Even though we had the longest wait ever at our hole-in-the-wall seafood joint, it was still fun. They have the most precious daughter. The boys kept saying what a good job she did at the restaurant even though it was a long wait.  They talked about it all the way home. 🙂 Tummies full, we are nestling snug in our beds to get a good sleep, although Carter is complaining of growing pains in his legs this evening.

So, last night we watched our newest Netflix – Faith Like Potatoes. It was quite good. We had a difficult time understanding what they were saying part of the time as they spoke in very thick South African accents, but it was inspiring (and true). {WARNING- there is a vivid scene with a small boy and a tractor accident…}I will have to say, I have been thinking about the message of this movie all day. I went to bed last night praying for faith like potatoes in my own life.

You see, I have been feeling a little hopeless about the sale of our home and some other things as well. It has been a hard thing. We have no promises that things are going to be easy and delightful even when we follow what God has instructed us to do – only that He will take care of us. It’s not easy when you realize that He doesn’t always take care of us by following our handy-dandy instruction booklet we keep trying to give Him, either.  I am trying to have faith that remains even when I can’t see the harvest. Faith that endures even when circumstances are screaming at me that it’s not going to turn out well. I am going to have faith and continue saying that all things will work together for the good of those that love Him – because I do love Him. I want my faith to grow so that next time circumstances seem impossible, I can look back and remember what He did back in 2009 and rest in the assurance that He will take care of us again.

Are you in need of some faith like I am? Faith that we can lean back into and trust that we will be held fast? Faith that tomorrow will take care of itself? Let’s agree together for it.

Yes! I’m in need of faith! Thank you Janna for showing me true faith in our one true God. You are becoming my dear friend, even if we only communicate through FB & your blog.
